Take a "Peak" at Portland's Alternative Oil Use Plans

In the next chapter of the city's stated committment to cut down our oil and natural gas consumption (see our Feb. 22, 2006 cover story, "My Name is Randy, and I'm Addicted to Oil," and our follow-up Dec. 27 piece, "One Year Older, One Year Wiser"), the Peak Oil Task Force released an initial draft of its recommendations earlier today.

Full text of the report is now available for public review and the City's Office of Sustainable Development will be accepting comments online through Feb. 12, before preparing a final report to submit to City Council.
