Upscale Burritomania

Proprietors of the local taqueria chain Cha! Cha! Cha! will soon debut what they envision as "an upscale yet affordable" Mexican eatery in Northwest Portland. Opening in February in the historic Star's Antique Mall on Northwest 21st, "Cha" will seat 100 patrons in the dining room with room for more in the bar, and on the patio during the warmer months. While favorites familiar to Cha! Cha! Cha! patrons, such as carne asada burritos and pork tacos, will show up on the lunch menu, Proprietor Javier Diaz Hurtado's Cha will emphasize regional Mexican cooking: moles from Pueblo, seafood from the Yucatan, as well as a tequila tasting bar.
