In the same year Dubya was reelected, Australian filmmaker Mick O'Shea spent 145 days kayaking the entire Mekong River (a first) only to discover a fuck-up of another kind—China's plan to dam it all to hell. Condensed into a 43.5-minute documentary, the film (co-directed by Portlander Brian Eustis) aims to show both struggles.
