In September, the Multnomah County District Attorney declined to file criminal charges against Portland Trail Blazer Zach Randolph after a well-publicized incident involving a woman in the Hotel Vintage Plaza. Today, Randolph—who leads our resurgent NBA team in points, rebounds and steals—was slapped with a civil lawsuit stemming from the August incident.
The suit, filed in Multnomah County Circuit Court, does not identify the plaintiff, calling her “Jane Doe,” but charges the 25-year-old Randolph with rape and includes an unusual amount of alleged detail, some of which comes from the police report.
According to the complaint, Randolph met the plaintiff at the Exotica International Club for Men, a Strip club on N.E. Columbia and went with her and a male friend and another woman to the downtown Hotel Vintage Plaza, where Randolph is “a regular customer”, according to the complaint. Randolph, the complaint states, said he would pay the two woman $500 to have oral sex with each other and became upset when it became apparent to him that the sex was simulated. “You need to get up into that shit,” the complaint states Randolph said. The complaint says that the plaintiff later passed out or fell asleep and awoke when Randolph was engaging in anal intercourse. The Blazers declined to comment.
