Phil Knight, Republican Governors Invest More in Dudley

Nike Chairman Phil Knight this week gave GOP gubernatorial candidate Chris Dudley $200,000, on top of the $200,000 he previously gave the former Trail Blazer. The Republican Governors' Association gave Dudley another $175,000, bringing its total to $2.4 million. Even before Including independent expenditures, the 2010 gubernatorial race has now shattered the previous total expenditure record of $14.4 million spent in 2006. Dudley has raised $9.1 million in 2010; his Democratic opponent John Kitzhaber has raised $5.9 million this year.

With less than a week to go before ballots are counted, Dudley has $1.25 million on hand; Kitzhaber $545,000.
