The campaign to
recall Mayor Sam Adams will stage a City Hall rally tomorrow morning, April Fools' Day, at 11:30.
Former state Sen. Avel Gordly, the chief petitioner, will be there. And campaign volunteer Teresa McGuire says the rally's scheduling is purposeful, despite questions from some about whether it makes the recallers look like the campaign is a joke.
"We feel people have acted foolishly, and we want to draw attention to that," McGuire says.
Meantime, McGuire estimated the signature-gathering campaign, which has less than a month until the April 20 deadline to turn in 32,000-plus valid signatures, has collected between 12,000 and 15,000 signatures.
