President Obama's Final, Final, Final Push For Health Care

Watching this video of President Obama below trying yet again to rescue the year-long debacle that has been the health care debate left reporter James Pitkin and myself with very different reactions.

I'm a 45-year-old cynic who strongly believes that the Democrats will piss away this chance to pass health care reform, despite majorities in the Senate and House and this perfectly rational pitch by Obama. Pitkin, a little less cynical perhaps because he's 10 years younger (and based on his knowledge of Obama), believes even the Democrats can't be so stupid and disorganized as not to pass something this year.

Our bet on the outcome: a pitcher of beer. Rest assured, when I win this bet, my toast will be sorrowful.
