kc2At the Roseland on Sunday, pimped-out funky orchestra Breakestra brought its inspiration deep from the crates of the finest vinyl gems that old school hip-hop, R&B, funk and jazz have to offer. With no sampler, these guys play it all real time. With equal amounts of smooth and gritty riffs, they had what it took to appeal to connoisseurs of rare groove and underground hip-hop alike. The band's sound perfectly completed with vocals that packed a whallop. Expert crowd or not, the music hit paydirt and got everybody moving—right on the one!
