Morgan Grace, "Come Around" (Unreleased)

After parting ways with former drummer (and Napalm Beach mainstay) Sam Henry, Morgan Grace has finally taken the first steps toward a lifelong fantasy—the hand-picked all-female super(girl)group. "Come Around" doesn't quite reach supergroup status—Grace plays all parts on the demo—but, with supra-feminine vocals (imagine a more tuneful Juliana Hatfield) keening ecstatic 'whoa-ohs' above driving beat and memorable riffage, the track illustrates a distinct blueprint: garage sensibilities employed to power the classic Shangri-La's narrative. Her solo acoustic show February 9th at Mississippi Studios should touch more upon past glories, of course, but do expect further hints toward the exciting new direction.
