Norman, "Finding Jefferson" from Norman (self-released)

norman Though they may be from Corvallis (the land of those damned Beavers), the fellas in Norman seem to have good hearts. The band has a warm, folky pop sound that really works. Here on "Finding Jefferson," the standout track from their self-titled debut, a spunky drum machine keeps time while the band plays sunny guitars and synthesizers. I'd always been convinced that nothing good could come from Corvallis (well, other than all of my good friends that grew up there), but maybe that gray little town has something on its hands with this band. Of course they'll probably graduate from college or whatever is keeping them there and move to Portland. We'll have our revenge, Beavers.
