Esquire's Big Black Book is Neither Big Nor Black: Discuss

For the last few years, Esquire has published a handy compendium of fashion and lifestyle tips for the testosterone set, arbitrarily dubbed "The Big Black Book." Though this year's edition is a rather slim orange number, it covers a lot of ground for $9.95 and is fairly timeless. Among other things, there's a special section on shoes and shoe maintenance, a tie-tying pictorial, and—RT's personal favorite—a very tasteful and helpful city-by-city gift guide for the traveling male who doesn't want to return home empty-handed to his wife or lady friend. Paris? An Hermès scarf. Rome? A luxe leather tote. If Portland were included? Probably something like a Powell's t-shirt and a pound of Stumptown. Sigh.
