Yesterday's shuttle diplomacy between City Hall and the Portland Building, a main hub for the city's bureaus, produced a result today: Tom Miller, Mayor Sam Adams'
chief of staff, will replace Sue Keil,
who yesterday announced she would retire in May, the mayor's office has announced.
Miller will take over at the transportation bureau on Jan 25, and Keil will stay on the job for several months while the bureau makes a transition.
Adams today also announced Warren Jimenez
would replace Miller as his new chief of staff. Jennifer Yocom,
his former campaign manager, would replace Jimenez as deputy chief of staff. And Cary Clark
would fill Yocom's role as the mayor's arts and culture director.
The mayor has not said what Miller's new salary will be. Miller, who joined Adams staff when the mayor was still a commissioner, earned $99,641.88 as the mayor's chief of staff.
