Willamette Geek: Skype iPhone App Now Allows Video Calls

Just when you thought it was safe to communicate with another person while still in your pajamas, Skype has updated its iPhone App to support video calls (iPhone 4 and 3gs only please).

Unlike Apple's Wi-Fi only Facetime, the updated Skype app app gives you another surefire way to gobble up all of your precious bandwidth by making video calls possible over your 3g cellular connection.

Skyping using an iPhone 3gs (which lacks a front-facing camera) may be awkward. But at least the option is there (and be honest, it will make over-the-phone ventriliquism a snap!) No word yet on when other smartphone platforms will get their apps updated, but with the Consumer Electronics Show just around the corner, it's doubtful they will go too long without.
