New York Snowpocalypse Claims Hair Cast Touring to Portland

Broadway Across America's Hair

Nick Fish isn't the only Portlander whose plans have been ruined by New York's transformation into an icy death casket.

Many members of the touring cast of Hair, who were set to kick off their run performing the classic Summer of Love musical tonight in Portland at the Keller, are also grounded in the Big Apple. The Broadway Across America peeps promise the show will go on tomorrow night.

Here's the scoop:
Fred Meyer Broadway Across America Portland has announced that recent weather conditions on the East Coast have resulted in numerous flight cancellations, preventing many members of the cast of HAIR from arriving in Portland in time for this evening's performance. As a result, the Tuesday, December 28, 7:30pm performance has been cancelled. The cast had been on a holiday break prior to the Portland engagement and many make their home in the New York City area.

All other performances of HAIR are expected to take place as originally scheduled.

Tickets purchased for tonight's cancelled performance will be honored for admission at any of the remaining performances based on availability. Right now, best seating availability is all performances on Friday, Dec. 31, Saturday, Jan. 1 and Sunday, Jan. 2. Patrons should contact the original place of purchase for reseating.

Patrons with additional questions may call the Portland Opera Box Office at 503-241-1802.

GO: Hair, snow-willing, will still take place at the Keller Auditorium, 222 SW Clay St., 241-1802. 7:30 pm Wednesday-Friday, 2 and 7:30 pm Saturday, 1 and 6:30 pm Sunday, Dec. 29-Jan. 2. $23.50-$85.55.
