Support Abortion Rights? Oppose Abortion Rights? Come to Pioneer Square on Sunday

This Sunday, Oregon Right to Life will hold a Roe v. Wade memorial rally at Pioneer Courthouse Square from 2 pm to 3 pm to, in the anti-abortion group's words, “remember the lives of 51 million children lost to abortion, and call upon our nation and its leaders to give children the protection they deserve.”

Around the same time, and not by coincidence, Radical Women, NARAL Pro-choice Oregon and Gender Free for All will be picketing for women's reproductive rights (and countering anti-abortion Oregon Right to Life's planned vigil) just around the corner on SW 6th Avenue between SW Yamhill and SW Morrison starting at 1:30 pm.

With Oregon Right to Life's seven-speaker lineup including Archbishop John Vlazny vs. Radical Women's outspoken response, it's unlikely this Sunday showdown will end up a quiet affair.
