What says the holiday season more than a holdup of a Christmas tree lot, and at a lot raising money for this organization that helps developmental disabled people in Portland.

Sheesh.

Here's the news release Portland police put out last night about the armed robbery:
This evening, Monday December 6, 2010 at approximately 7:53 p.m., Portland Police officers responded to the report of an armed robbery at a Christmas tree lot at Northeast 82nd Avenue and East Burnside Street in the Safeway parking lot. Officers arrived and learned that the suspect pointed a gun at the Christmas tree lot attendant and demanded money. The victim gave the suspect an undisclosed sum of money and the suspect was last seen running northbound on 82nd from Burnside.

The suspect was described as black male in his early 30's, 6'00", medium build, all black clothing, black ski cap with an "Oregon State" logo on the front, armed with a handgun.

The Christmas tree lot is a fundraiser for a L'Arche Nehalem, an organization that assists people with developmental disabilities in Portland.

Anyone with information about this robbery is urged to call Portland Police.
