Morrison Bridge to Turn Red in Honor of World AIDS Day

If you drive over the Morrison Bridge this Wednesday evening, you may notice it's illuminated in red to raise awareness of World AIDS Day.

Portland will be one of more than 30 U.S. cities to light up distinctive landmarks on Dec. 1 in red, highlighting health officials' goal of ending mother-to-child transmission of HIV by the year 2015.

Also worth noting is that Starbucks and Dell will be contributing to The Global Fund from purchases made in their locations to help on World AIDS Day. Starbucks will contribute 5 cents for every handcrafted beverage bought this Wednesday. And Dell will be doubling its contributions on (PRODUCT)RED items throughout the week. Since its launch in 2006, (RED) partners and events connected with participating companies such as Dell have generated $160 million for the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria.
