Here's a quickie update on an item we had last week in which U.S. Rep.
Peter DeFazio (D-Ore.) was in the
middle of a party rebellion against Speaker
Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) in the wake of election results that will flip the House next year from control by the Democrats to control by the Republicans.
The effort by DeFazio and Rep. Marci Kaptur (D-Ohio) to delay their party's caucus elections failed today by a vote of 129-68, with DeFazio
telling the
Washington Post that "I think 68 votes is a substantial message."
Next up on the "to watch" list for messages is whether Pelosi will
exact any revenge on DeFazio and other critics.
