Queer Resource Center's Plans for Trans Day of Rememberance

Queer Resource Center

Portland State University's Queer Resource Center this Saturday will mark the Trans Day of Remembrance, held in honor of a Boston transgender woman killed in 1998.

The Nov. 20 observance will feature performances by the strumming, puppeteering queer artist Geppetta and the Collective of Geniuses Acrobatic Troupe from Portland, as well as a presentation and film by Tobi Hill-Meyer about being a transgender person of color.

In addition, the QRC is holding a week of events around the Day of Remembrance including a tour of the new Trans Friendly Recreation Center Tuesday, Nov. 16 and an open mic on Friday, Nov. 19, plus a series of workshops on Sunday, Nov. 21.
