Everett Street Bistro
, a European-style eatery in the Pearl District, faces a lawsuit by a former employee who claims he was sexually harassed by the owner.
In the lawsuit filed Nov. 1 in Multnomah County Circuit Court, the plaintiff—who filed the suit using only the initials "SET"—claims he worked as a waiter and bartender in the restaurant from January through May of this year.
According to the suit, bistro owner Kyle Lynch sent the plaintiff sexually explicit text messages including "Wanna suck my dick again later?" and "So when do I get to see a pick [sic] of your cock?.....;)."
The plaintiff also claims in his lawsuit that Lynch pressured him to date Lynch's friends, making comments such as "Let's get you laid" and "The fags just want you to stick it in."
According to the suit, when the plaintiff complained to other employees about the alleged harassment, Lynch suspended him from work and ultimately fired him. The plaintiff also claims he was denied a portion of his tips.
The lawsuit, filed by Portland lawyer Alan Lave, seeks $70,000 for emotional distress plus $6,840 in lost wages.
Chris Young, a manager at Everett Street Bistro, declined to comment.
