New Jeffrey Jerusalem Video, "Smiling & Tender"

Jeffrey Jerusalem

We all know how excruciating a visit with the parents can get. And apparently, so does Jeff Brodsky a.k.a. Jeffrey Jerusalem. But instead of hiding in the basement, taking extra-long trips to Walgreen's or pacing around the neighborhood cursing silently like the rest of us, the local electro-dance producer's method of escape is to make music videos.

According to Brodsky, he shot this clip for Caribou-ish new track "Smiling and Tender" on his iPhone a few weeks ago while back east at his mom's place. Against a black backdrop, Brodsky bangs on some random percussion instruments, wears a weird-looking mask, takes pulls from a flask, goofs off with a toy dog, dances around and gets topless -- y'know, the kind of crazy shit all of us do after being around the folks too long.

No word on exactly where the song is going to end up, but Brodsky recently told Oregon Music News that he's working on a full-length followup to 2009's Grimace,  in between touring with YACHT and playing drums on their upcoming record.
