No marijuana will be available to non-cardholders. But attendees can get a peek at the venue (322 S.E. 82nd Ave.) and learn more about cannabis programs for adults. The event will also raise awareness for the NORML Women's Alliance, a nonpartisan coalition formed by the National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws.
All proceeds from the group's first outreach will benefit Dress for Success Oregon, but its purpose transcends mere fundraising.
"We want to let all cannabis consumers know that we are here to help in our neighborhoods," event coordinator Anna Diaz said in a news release. "My hope is to include women-- and men-- both within and outside of the medical cannabis community."
Entry to the clothing swap is free with a minimum of five pieces of clean clothing in good repair. A "sister event" will be held at 2021 25th St. in Salem at the same date and time.
