Portland's Sock It To Me Wants Your Foot Ideas

Sock It To Me "Dinomite" socks.

If you've admired a pair of brightly colored socks emblazoned with everything from crows and zombies to pink mustaches around town the last few years chances are you're eyeballing Sock It To Me's handiwork.

The local company demands that you get in on the foot action with its 2nd Annual International Design‐A‐Sock Contest. Sure, they already sell more than 200 different styles of socks but apparently that is not nearly enough kinds of toe-gloves to sate the insatiable global demand for snarky socks. So, they're asking Portlanders and sock lovers the world over to contribute their ideas for new socks. The deadline for submissions is Friday, March 4. If you're lazy like me and just want to vote for the socks you like best, voting runs online March 14-17, with winners announced on Friday, March 18. What do they get?

Ahem: "First place winner of this sugar-sweet contest will receive a $500 cash prize and 10 pairs of socks, plus their design will be produced and sold across the world."

So go forth and design, socklings. And here's a link to last year's winners in case you want some inspiration. We've already got tiger socks, right?
