MultCo Commish Jeff Cogen Raking in Campaign Cash

In the spirit of holiday giving extending to politics in Portland, we note today how supporters of Multnomah County Commissioner Jeff Cogen spent the season accelerating their contributions to his 2010 campaign.

Cogen tells WW he plans on running for re-election to the county commission, despite rumors he may be aiming for city office.

And just today Cogen recorded an influx of checks from moneybags such as former timber investor J. Duncan Campbell, civil-rights lawyer Elden Rosenthal, Providence Health Plans CEO Jack Friedman, The Zidell Companies and Mark Rosenbaum, a former head of the Portland Development Commission.

Other recent contributors to Cogen's coffers include PGE, Pearl District developer Mark Edlen, developer Doug Obletz and lawyer Bob Stoll, a prominent Democratic rainmaker.
