Turns out former United Nations nuclear agency chief Mohamed ElBaradei won't be coming to Portland after all to speak next month at a World Affairs Council event.

The World Affairs Council announced today that ElBaradei's run for president in his native Egypt will mean the cancellation of his April 4 speech in Portland. He will be replaced on June 13 by Nicholas Kristof, a two-time Pulitzer Prize winner for the New York Times and an Oregon native.
