Mark your calendars for Sunday, March 27, if you want to help raise money in Portland for earthquake and tsunami victims in Japan.

Stephen Marc Beaudoin, who produced a local benefit concert for Haiti earthquake victims last year that raised $162,000, is co-producing next weekend's musical benefitFrom Oregon, With Love—at the Aladdin Theater.

Headliners include pianist Thomas Lauderdale and his entire band, Pink Martini, vocalist Holcombe Waller, Storm Large and dancers from the Oregon Ballet Theatre. The concert will also feature performances by fEARnoMUSIC, Pacific Youth Choir, PHAME Academy, Portland Youth Philharmonic, Ida Rae Cahana, Carl Halvorson and more.

"The level of collaboration (on stage) will be very high," says Beaudoin, whose co-producers are Tom Sessa and Samantha Swaim. "It's a scrappy community effort and we're working in an anything goes atmosphere."

"Our goal is to raise $250,000," Beaudoin says. "We need and want the support of everyone, from those who can give $5 to those who can give $5,000."

All proceeds from the 7 pm event will go to the Mercy Corps Oregon Japan Relief Fund. Advance tickets are on sale now for $38 at www.aladdin-theater.com or at 503-234-9694, or $40 on the day of the show.
