One More Potential Complication for the Return of Public Campaign Finance in Portland

Predicting the outcome of U.S. Supreme Court decisions based on the questions that justices ask during arguments is a tricky business.

But the questions posed on Monday by justices over public campaign finance in Arizona do make it appear as if the court is heading toward a majority decision ultimately that will create one more hurdle for supporters of an initiative in Portland that would ask voters next year to bring back a public financing option in city elections.
