As I was posting this, I thought "Oh, I should put stars next to the stuff I'm really excited about!" Then almost everything got a star. I have since erased said stars. This is a great lineup, even if it lacks huge-name mega-groups. Who needs superstars when you've got so many rad bands?

Hot off the heels of the release of their 2011 double disc compilation, PDX Pop Now! -- Portland's premier local music advocacy organization - has announced the schedule for the 8th annual festival.
To kick off the 2011 PDX Pop Now! Festival weekend, PDX Pop Now! is partnering with RACC as the featured non-profit for the July 21st ArtSpark! Come learn about opportunities to get involved with PDX Pop Now! throughout the year at this free, all-ages event at Backspace from 5-7pm. Take part in a Portland trivia game for the chance to win a PDX Pop Now! t-shirt or 40-track Compilation. Then stick around for rock-pop experience of Portland's own Rocky and the Proms!
PDX Pop Now! Radio - Presented by Radio23 - Listeners will be able to stream the entire festival live as it happens July 22-24 and get a taste of the past 8 years of PDX Pop Now! compilations. PDX Pop Now! Radio can be accessed through pdxpopnow.org.
