Future Drinking: Oct. 10-13

It looks like Mount Hood is about to get a second brewery, albeit not as high up the slope as the venerable Ice Ax Grill. Solera Brewery has applied for a brewpub license at 4945 Baseline Drive, some 16 miles south of Hood River.

Speaking of hood river, someone has applied for a limited license for a business called Cascade Pet Camp, which appears to be a kennel. What's the beer for? I'd rather not speculate.

Someone by the name of Michael Claypool—maybe this guy?—has applied to open Clay Pigeon Winery in a house in Overlook.

The former Indish Restaurant and Temple Bar space on Northwest 21st Avenue, empty since May, will become another branch of the rapidly expanding Blitz Sports Bar chain, joining bars in Ladd's Addition, the Pearl District and Tigard.

King's Deli, a Chinese/burger joint on the far northern reaches of the city at 2207 NE Columbia Blvd., has closed. It will become Emily's Teriyaki, Deli, Pho & Bar. I love a nice, literal business name. I'm not certain, but I believe this may be the first establishment in Portland to offer both billiards and pho.
