Cut of the Day: Wow & Flutter, "Tired of Waiting," Double Deuce EP (self-release)

If you hear any chatter about the new Wow & Flutter EP Double Deuce, it will likely be about the admittedly cool method with which the band is distributing it: as a download, which is only accessible via a code found in bottles of a new Imperial Ale from Alameda Brewing.

But let's not forget that new Wow & Flutter music is just as exciting a prospect. All you have to do is take a listen to this track from Double Deuce to see what I mean.

It's a scorcher of a tune, a boiling bit of post-punk tension that will singe your eyebrows if you get too close. The band's pop leanings gets some play too via the call and response vocals of guitarist Cord Amato and bassist Ryan Matheson. And dig that synth heavy breakdown that oozes out around the 3:30 mark.

Look for a full review of the EP in next week's WW, then start scouring the stores for some Double Deuce Ale and the tasty music that lies within each bottle.
