Virgin America Becomes Newest Airline to Stop at PDX

Virgin America, the California-based airline that launched in 2007, announced today it would start offering service to Portland from San Francisco and Los Angeles in June. The company's website is already advertising tickets for $99 for people who book their flights by Friday.

As part of the announcement, the company created a video advertising Portland to potential passengers, playing up the city's well-known personality.

It includes shots of "Keep Portland Weird" written on a building, a sign that says "Even I Say No," next to a scantily clad mannequin, presumably in the window of a sex store, and ample shots of rainy gray skies.
