Yeah, this week's rundown of OLCC applications is late. I was busy finishing up Drink, WW's guide to Portland's best 105 bars, which comes out Wednesday. Why 105? Because I can't count, that's why. Lots of news this week:
Kurt Huffman and Christopher Israel have applied for the license for Corazon, their soon-to-open Mexican restaurant in the the Indigo building.
KJ Michael Spinella, who claims to have brought Karaoke to Idaho, is starting a karaoke bar in a former church (and, more recently, furniture store) in downtown Gresham, called Spinella's Off the Wall. Do visit his web site. It's fascinating.
Tissa Stein, a baker from Petaluma, Calif., is opening Tabor Bread in a brick house at 5051 SE Hawthorne Blvd.
Boz Brothers LLC has purchased D48 Bistro, a tiny cart pod and shack on Southeast Division Street, which they plan to reopen as Stock & Barrel. No further details yet.
Across the street from the Indigo, Cheryl Krumlauf-Casey of As Good As It Gets catering has applied for a license to open Cheryl's on 12th, a specialty foods market and deli.
Tube, Rotture and Yes and No owner Michael Wolfson has reapplied for a license New Killingsworth Dynasty, the bar at 832 N Killingsworth St. for which he originally applied a year ago.
Bamboo Sushi's new outlet on Northwest 23rd Avenue appears to be nearing opening. Here's the application.
Artigiano, an excellent Italian food cart on Division, has applied to start serving beer and wine.
As has been widely reported elsewhere, the much missed Tributes pizza and sandwich shop is reopening on West Burnside Street.
You know who else is moving to West Burnside Street? Koi Fusion. Bo Kwon's taco empire is working on an outlet at 2070 W Burnside St.
A new taqueria, El Cazador, is coming to 10151 SE Foster Road.
The proliferation of new fast-food burger joints in and around Portland continues: Wilsonville's WOW! Burger has applied to open a location at Cascade Station, and has a vancouver branch in the works.
Could a teriyaki war be coming to Northeast Sandy Boulevard? Deok Soo Lee has applied for a license to open Teriyaki Town on the Boulevard at 44th Avenue, just ten blocks from Du's Grill.
Also coming to Sandy is Lorena's Mexican Restaurant.
Farther down the Boulevard, at 68th, Eddy's Cafe is becoming Mekha Cafe.
Cully's Cozy Pub is becoming The Shady Lady Tavern. This can only be a good thing.
Elsewhere in Oregon, Liminal Productions LLC has applied to open a winery in Carlton under the name Amarodolce. I assume this is unrelated to Liminal Performance Group.
WWeek 2015
