Want to Watch Kara Goucher Run the 2012 Olympic Marathon in London? You Can.

Kara Goucher in the 2009 Boston Marathon

NBC announced yesterday that it will livestream every event at this summer's London Olympics on nbcolympics.com.

This is really just an incremental change from the network's 2008 coverage of the Beijing Olympics, but at least it means we can stop pretending that the hammer throw is happening when the hammer throw has clearly already happened. Hammer time is no longer a farce.

The local ramification? We'll be able to watch Portland long-distance runner Kara Goucher live as she tackles the women's marathon. So far, Goucher is the only Oregonian to qualify for the games.

The women's marathon will start at 3 am Pacific Standard Time on Friday, Aug. 5. Goucher qualified for the Olympics with a run time of two hours, 26 minutes and six seconds.

Prepare accordingly.
