Ben Unger is leading Katie Riley in the Democratic
scramble to face Rep. Katie Eyre (R-Hillsboro) in the general election.
Unger is ahead of Riley, a retired Oregon Health & Sciences University
administrator, 65 percent to 35 percent.
House District 29 covers Cornelius, Hillsboro, Forest Grove and parts of
Washington County.
HOUSE DISTRICT 36
Jennifer Williamson leads Dr. Sharon Meieran in the Democratic primary after what turned out to be
a tough fight to replace state Rep. Mary Nolan in the southwest
Portland’s House District 36.
In early vote counts, Williamson, a lobbyist, leads Meieran, an emergency room physician, by 53 percent to 44 percent. A third candidate,
Benjamin Jay Barber, has 8 percent.
The winner will face Republican Bruce Neal in the November general election.
HOUSE DISTRICT 47 Jessica Vega Pederson leads Thuy Tran and Andrew Haynes in the race to replace two-term incumbent Jefferson Smith, who is running for Portland mayor.
In early returns, Pederson has 50 percent of the vote. Tran has 38 percent and Haynes 12.
The winner will face Republican Maggie Nelson in the November election.
