I had the pleasure of profiling Portland's garage-pop-punk sweethearts Pataha Hiss for this week's paper (read it here), but I wasn't quite able to convey just how deep this trio's music geekery runs. My hourlong conversation with Chelsea McIntire and Lizzie Flick revealed a band still totally stoked on its many musical influences and inspirations, so I thought a playlist of Pataha Hiss' favorite songs would complete the portrait I painted in the paper.

Dustin Schwindt: "Both songs share an intimate feeling being warm and cold lyrically and musically. They both convey desperation in a sense, but different ends of the spectrum."

The Only Ones, “Another Girl, Another Planet”

Lizzie Flick: “A great song from 1978 which is rivaled only by "Teenage Kicks." A masterful blend of Pop Sugar & Punk Rock. Mmm!”


Exploding Hearts, “Sleeping Aides & Razorblades”

Chelsea: Guitar Romantic is a stellar album all around but "Sleeping Aides & Razorblades" has always resonated with me. I'm a sucker for a great break up song.


Dead Boys, “All This and More” 

Lizzie: “The sexiest song ever written. Period.”
