Paul Ryan Visiting Portland on Sept. 10

Paul Ryan, VP nominee

Heads up, Little Beirut: Paul Ryan is coming.

The Bend Bulletin reports from the Republican National Convention in Tampa that Ryan, the GOP Vice Presidential candidate, will be stopping in Portland for lunch on Monday, Sept. 10.

Bulletin reporter Andrew Clevenger cites U.S. Rep. Greg Walden (R-The Dalles) as saying he'll get lunch with Ryan in Portland. The stop is presumably a fundraising luncheon, timed with another appearance in Bellevue, Wash., the same day.

(UPDATE, 6:30 pm: Oregon GOP Chairman Allen Alley has confirmed the visit to The Oregonian.)

Democratic party blog BlueOregon isn't waiting for confirmation to begin preparations for Ryan's visit.

"Get your signs ready and give him an Oregon welcome," Paulie Brady wrote this afternoon.
