Matt Wingard Empties Out His PAC

State Rep. Matt Wingard

Rep. Matt Wingard (R-Wilsonville) decided earlier this year not to seek re-election after news about his relationship with a former subordinate surfaced. He also resigned his position as deputy leader of the House Republican caucus in June, bringing an end to his rapid rise to influence within the Oregon GOP.

This week, filings show that Wingard, who remains in office until January, cleaned out the money remaining his political action committee—$15,297.25—to be exact. He gave that money it to an organization called the Liberi Foundation. The foundation, which Wingard formed last year, and on whose board he sits, is a 501(c)3 non-profit that supports children's charities.
