Waitress Sues Hamburger Mary's Over Penis Photos

A Multnomah County woman has filed suit against legendary Old Town drag queen and burger joint Hamburger Mary's, saying a manager sent her pictures of his penis.

The suit appeared in Multnomah County Circuit Court on Dec. 27, asking for $555,000 in economic and emotional distress.

Filed on behalf of Linda June Lefebre by Portland attorney Randall Vogt, the suit claims that Lefebre interviewed with Hamburger Mary's and an unnamed manager for a waitress job on Nov. 5.

The suit says that the restaurant's assistant and general managers interviewed Lefebre, and the assistant manager verbally told her she was hired and to report the next day.

That night, the case says that Lefebre "received numerous lewd and vulgar text messages" from the general manager, "including, most particularly, a photograph of the private parts of the sender's body."

The suit adds that Lefebre has been out of work for some time and the harassment was a message that she must have a sexual relationship with the manager to keep her new job.

It asks for $55,000 for current and future medical care, including counseling, as well as $500,000 in non-economic damages.

Vogt tells WW that he has no further comment on the case. "I think it stands for itself," he says. However, Vogt did add that he will update the case to include the general manager's name after depositions are taken.

Hamburger Mary's did not immediately answer a voice mail left on the restaurant's main phone line.
