Have You Seen This Bear?

Washington County Sheriff's deputies are on high alert for a wooden bear reported stolen in the night from Cedar Mill.

In a press release sent this afternoon, the department is asking the public's help finding it. The bear disappeared Saturday from 1080 NW 102nd Ave.

The bear was purchased in 1996 for $1,700 and has been in the yard for years, the release says, adding the statue is now a gray color from weathering.

The bear is estimated to weigh over 200 pounds, leading deputies to believe that it would require more than one person to haul it away, police say.
