Like Weed? Looking for Work?

We may have been the last media outlet to notice this, but still:

In the wake of Washington voters approving recreational marijuana, the state's liquor control board has sent out an unusual request for consultants who can help government officials understand the production, use and product quality of marijuana.

In other words, Washington is asking for help identifying the good, dank shit.

The RFP says the state is seeking "knowledge of the infrastructure to test marijuana to ensure product quality, content, ingredients and consumer safety considerations. The consultant may assist the WSLCB with establishing quality standards for testing."

If you feel you're someone who can help Washingtonians find the best tests for marijuana, you have until Feb. 15 to apply.

The Washington Liquor Control Board held a meeting in Tacoma on Jan. 30 with potential consultants. About 100 people showed up—with varying levels of expertise, according to the Tacoma News Tribune.

"I am new to this. I just want to know if there is something I can offer," Jason DeBaugh of Seattle told the News Tribune. "It's a big process. I'll go back and see if I can assemble a team to become a viable consultant. I'm just Joe Smith, thinking I can do something."

It is important, when applying to be a state recreational marijuana consultant, that you remember your name.

And in case you've forgotten: The Oregon Liquor Control Commission is still seeking a director.
