Lawmakers are prepare for today's 3 pm public hearing on the proposed $3.5 billion Columbia River Crossing project, which is expected to last until 9 pm as partisans on both sides make their cases.
Meanwhile, here's a reminder that not every bill carries the same heft.
Three lawmakers, Rep. Bill Kennemer (R-Oregon City); Sens. Chuck Thomsen (R-Hood River) and Alan Olsen (R-Sandy), have proposed House Bill 2352, legislation that would deem Aug. 9 "Boring and Dull Day."
If passed, the legislation would cement together the Clackamas County burg of Boring with the Scottish hamlet of Dull (population 84).
The bill is scheduled for a hearing on Feb. 13 in the House Rules Committee, but you can read it here, right now. It is short but be forewarned: The sponsors themselves concede "reading this 2013 Act is boring and dull."
