Sunshine, booze and way, way too much food: Yes, our 6th annual Eat Mobile festival had pretty much everything you need for a perfect Saturday evening.
3,500 attendees crowded the OMSI parking lot where some of our favorite food carts served up a vast array of foods from Thai iced tea ice cream, to Mauritian samosas, to kombucha.
In addition to stuffing a lot of faces, the assembled carts also competed for the most prestigious honor in all of Portland food cart awarddom: The Carty Award.
For the fifth year in a row, Portland's best food carts battled it out for the honor—and the coveted People's Choice Award chosen by you, the people.
Our judges included local gadfly Byron Beck, Portland fire chief Erin Janssens, David Mcintyre of Whole Foods, David Stokamer of Flavourspot , and Gregg Abbot of Whiffies Fried Pies.
