VIDEO: How to Make a Zine

Gabby Holden, a volunteer at the Independent Publishing Resource Center, shows us how she makes her zines—independently produced, small-circulation publications. The IPRC is a nonprofit on Southeast Division Street that provides education and resources to people who want to publish independently.

Holden is tabling at the 13th Annual Portland Zine Symposium, this Saturday and Sunday. The Portland Zine Symposium is a place to buy and trade zines and learn about the culture and creative process behind them.

Holden first volunteered at the IPRC before making a zine of her own. "I was just surrounded by them," Holden says. "And I thought, 'it doesn't seem too hard to do this.'"
