Happy Halloween from Portland Police Mounted Patrol

Today, I saw a man in a dress rushing to get to his car. It took me three more blocks—and the sighting of a man running down the block in a Superman costume—to realize that perhaps this was because it was Halloween and not just because this is Portland.

Then, Asher, one of the city's finest members of the Portland Police Mounted Patrol, popped up on Facebook to confirm the date.

Behold: Skeleton Horse Cop!

The photo, taken in front of the patrol's paddock on Naito Parkway, shows Asher ready for a day of spooking out crime.

Too bad, in WW's opinion, that best-ever police horse cop Zeus didn't get in on the action. We're sure he would have been terrifying. We are also reserving the rights now for the B-movie horror production.
