Sasquatch Announces Two-Weekend 2014 Lineup

Outkast, Queens of the Stone Age, Kraftwerk, Frank Ocean headline, along with a bazillion others.

sasquatch

Well, we got Outkast

The reunited hip-hop duo will headline the first half of the annual Sasquatch Music Festival at Washington's Gorge Amphitheater, which this year is spread across two separate weekends in May and July. Considering the legendary Atlanta rappers proclaimed they'd perform at 40 festivals in 2014, it'd be a major disappointment otherwise.

Although the specialness of that booking is deflated a bit by the fact that the group is also headlining, like, the Sun Chips Dandelion Festival in Tuscaloosa*, the rest of the lineup ain't too shabby, either. Other major names on that first weekend include Queens of the Stone Age, the National, MI.A., Haim, Kid Cudi and Neko Case. The second weekend is technically topped by Soundgarden (meh), but the overall lineup is perhaps even stronger, with New Order, Frank Ocean, Spoon, Neutral Milk Hotel, Robyn with Royksopp and friggin' Kraftwerk (KRAFTWERK!!!) also slated to appear. There are a ton of great bands up and down the bill: My lower-key must-see picks, on first perusal, include Chance the Rapper, Gesaffelstein, Parquet Courts, AlunaGeorge, Panda Bear, Rhye, Action Bronson, Lee Fields, Fuck Buttons, Death, Metz and Helms Alee. As usual, there's a liberal smattering of Portland-based acts, such as Typhoon, Radiation City, Black Prairie, Ages and Ages and Modern Kin, among other.  And, of course, this will mark, I believe, the first stateside performance by 4th of July Fireworks! I've been waiting forevs to see them!

Sasquatch takes place on Memorial Day and Fourth of July weekends, with tickets going on sale Saturday, Feb. 8. Get 'em ASAP—if they haven't somehow already sold-out by the time you read this.

* Not a real festival.
