It's Official! Bend's 10 Barrel Brewing Coming to Pearl District

The brewer will open a brewpub at 1411 NW Flanders, in the Mellow Mushroom Pizza Space

10 Barrel Brewing is coming to Portland.

After rumors aplenty following the announcement that Mellow Mushroom Pizza was closing abruptly, 10 Barrel Brewing has confirmed with Willamette Week that the brewery plans to open a pub and brewhouse at 1411 NW Flanders, right across the street from the Rogue Ales Public House.

WW named 10 Barrel's Swill our second favorite Oregon beer of the last year in February's Beer Guide. Head Brewer Garrett Wales writes in an e-mailed announcement that opening a new brewpub in Portland will allow the brewery "more opportunities to put out small batch and one-off beers."

In welcome news for some in Portland, the brewery also announced that it will soon be posting job listings on their website and Facebook pages.

The brewhouse and pub is expected to open in mid-summer, right before the anticipated arrival of Ohio's Fat Head's Brewery. In addition to Portland's Bridgeport Brewing, this would place four different brewing operations in the Pearl District that all hail from outside Portland, including Deschutes Brewing, also of Bend, and Newport's Rogue Ales.
