Future Islands Wails on the Waterfront

The viciously heartwarming growl of a musical warrior pretty much defines a Future Islands performance. Samuel T. Herring's stage uniform: black t-shirt, belt and slacks, dark eyes & gentle rage.

The Baltimore-born band also includes keyboardist Gerrit Welmers and guitarist William Cashion. After their extrodinary performance on David Letterman in March, their highly anticipated fourth album Singles created even more expectations.

The album didn't fall short, and now, after 11 years bouncing around under the radar, the band has broken some serious ground. Their head bopping synth-pop beats, strategically accented by interweaving harmonic keyboard, cradle Herring's bellowing cry and, strip its listeners down, exposed as humble servants to the band. Catch them live on the Waterfront this August 16th at MusicfestNW 2014.
