If you ask me, you don't really need to read the PDX Pop Now schedule. This is a festival that places a greater premium on discovery than just about any other. And there's no overlap, negating any potential conflicts. Really, the best thing to do, if you're a total newbie to the current Portland music scene, is to hang out and jump between stages. If you've got the stamina, it's actually possible to see everything—just ask Michael Mannheimer.
But then, some folks are just sticklers for planning. Thus, here is the schedule for the 11th installment of the all-ages, all-local, all-free Portland music tradition. As you'll notice, Illmaculate and the Portland Cello Project had to drop out due to scheduling conflicts, but they've been replaced by rapper Myke Bogan, psych-rockers the Fur Coats, lo-fi pop act Landlines, alt-folkies Snowblind Traveler and hirsute synth-pop masters Minden, who will close the festival. Not a bad consolation, all things considered.
