So Many Pot Events, So Little Time

Washington growers, vendors and investors are gathering in Tacoma this weekend for the CannaCon conference, giving the state's emerging industry a chance to compare notes for the first time since its recreational marijuana market launched earlier this year.

Meanwhile their customers will be gathering for Hempfest Seattle, which bills itself as "the world's largest annual cannabis protest rally." But it will also offer music groups, food, crafts and booze.

Meanwhile Portland is preparing to host three marijuana events next month, including an international industry conference and competing hemp festivals.

Sept. 13-14  The International Cannabis Business Conference 

Speakers will include political reporter and blogger Andrew Sullivan and pot-growing experts Ed Rosenthal as well as politicians, comedians and industry leaders. Cost: $499

Sept. 13-14  Portland Hempfest

Seattle's annual festival will host an Oregon spinoff first the first time, at the International Raceway. There's no line up yet for speakers, events and vendors. Cost: TBD

Sept. 27-28  Hempstalk

The ninth annual event is back at Tom McCall Waterfront Park, hosted by veteran pot-advocate Paul Stanford. Hempstalk's site has also not yet listed its speakers, events or vendors. Cost: Free
