If you've got an opinion on Portland's bicycling future, you have until Nov. 8 to tell the city's Bureau of Transportation about it.
The public comment period began this week on the Portland Bicycle Plan for 2030
. So regardless of whether you want the city to become one giant velodrome or want all bike lanes converted ASAP to parking for Hummers, you should send your comments by email to firstname.lastname@example.org
or by snail mail to Ellen Vanderslice, PBP Project Manager, Portland Bureau of Transportation, 1120 SW 5TH Avenue, Suite 800, Portland, Ore. 97204
The 2030 bike plan is available for review at: http://www.portlandonline.com/transportation/BicycleMasterPlan
. Paper copies are at public libraries in the City of Portland and at each of Portland's neighborhood coalition offices.
Here are some other dates worth noting: Portland's Planning Commission will hold a hearing on the plan at 6 pm on Oct. 27
, in Room 2500A, 1900 SW 4th Avenue. And a City Council hearing is tentatively scheduled for the evening of Jan. 20
